Overview
Spend several nights in an eco-lodge close to the stunning Lamanai Mayan Ruins located within the jungle and on the edge of a lagoon. Surrounded by wildlife such as howler monkeys, Jabiru storks, crocodiles, toucans and more. Then head down to the beach at the Garifuna village of Hopkins on the Caribbean coast for some relaxing beach time or head to the cayes to snorkel the barrier reef.

Below is an example day by day itinerary
Fly from London to US. Overnight in nearby airport hotel (Room only).
Arrive Belize City and transfer to Orange Walk. Travel by boat down the New River to Lamanai Outpost Lodge (BLD). (Approx. 2.5 hrs)
Two further nights at Lamanai Outpost Lodge (BLD). Choose from 2 activities a day that include visit to Lamanai Mayan ruins, kayaking on lagoon, night spotlight river safari, early morning bird walks.
Further day with activities (BLD).
Transfer back to Belize City by boat and then vehicle. You will then take a short propeller flight (approx. 15 mins) along the coastline to Dangriga town. Here you will be met and transferred to Hopkins village, approx. 35 mins further south. You will stay in Hopkins Bay Resort which is a collection of comfortable villas just south of the village and within walking distance or easy taxi ride. The hotel has a lovely stretch of beach and an open air thatched palapa restaurant on the beach (B).
Five further nights stay at Hopkins. Relax on the beach and enjoy the local bars and restaurants. Alternatively, there are a number of optional excursions including snorkelling or diving the Belize Barrier Reef at South Water Caye. Hiking in the Mayflower Bocawina National Park or the Cockscomb Basin Jaguar Preserve, ziplining or cave tubing in the jungle or kayaking on the Sittee River. The area is great for anyone interested in birds. Keel Billed Toucans can be seen feeding on almond trees on the road heading out of the village and during the months of January to March you can see Scarlet Macaws at nearby Red Bank Mayan village. Transferred back to Dangriga airstrip to take small propeller flight back to Belize City to connect with your onward International flight back to the UK (B).
